Pushing ‘No’ when asked ‘Would you like a receipt?” not only saves paper, but it also reduces the chance the receipt will end up as litter. When saying ‘No’ to receipts you can control if they get printed or not.

Taking ATM receipts are unnecessary these days for your basic transactions. Now, you can check your statements online. If you want to see it, it's easy to just log in and check it right there. 

Did you know that the thermal receipt print fades in 10 days of print? Then what is the point of keeping them?

Just simple facts about the making thermal paper used for printing ATM receipts:

  • It takes 15 trees to produce a ton of paper.

  • It takes approximately 390 gallons of oil to produce a single ton of thermal paper.

  • The amount of CO2 emitted by producing one ton of receipt paper is equivalent to the amount of exhaust a car emits while driving for an entire year 24x7.

  • It takes approximately 19,075 gallons of H2O to produce a single ton of paper.

  • Approximately 2,278 lbs of trash are produced while producing a single ton of receipt paper. (source)

Also this waste from hundreds of thousands of tons of discarded receipts, which, if they are thermally printed, are non-recyclable.
